Welcome to Genoch Cottage, near the head of the Girvan Valley in South Ayrshire, a mile from the Galloway forest park and some of the best walking and unspoilt scenery in the Southern Uplands. Some BackgroundLiffy Grant, who has worked in publishing in Scotland for many years, and her husband Jonathan Meuli, who is an artist, have recently finished a series of alterations to Genoch cottage, which was originally a shepherd's cottage for Genoch Farm. The aim has been to create a home and a work-place where you can think and work creatively in beautiful surroundings. There are two rooms available to let throughout the year at fixed, inclusive rates for short, medium or longer stays. You may find you have the place to yourself, or you may have some company for a day or two: but we will always ensure that the opportunity to think and work takes priority. The CottageThe Cottage is an ideal place for writing - or indeed for any creative work which would benefit from peace and quiet, beautiful landscape, clean air and freedom from urban distractions. It is comfortable, warm and peaceful: light, and spacious, with open fires. There are two rooms to let: one twin bed and one double bed, both with spectacular views. Other places to work include the living/dining room, with open log fire and views north and south. The studio room, which has windows on three sides and a log-burning stove, may also be used, by arrangement. |
