Genoch Cottage

There are two rooms available to let throughout the year at fixed, inclusive rates for short, medium or longer stays. As a family, we occasionally use the cottage at weekends and Jonathan for short working visits but we will always make sure you are not disturbed and for most of the time you will have the place to yourself.

As there are two rooms available there could be more than one visiting writer/artist in residence. There is ample space for two people to work independently. If, however, your work requires it we are offering a special rate for exclusive use.

Group bookings for workshops or seminars (overnight accommodation for a maximum of six people: daytime use, a maximum of 12 people): from £650 per week - please ring us to discuss your requirements.

What these rates include

These rates include heating and electricity, and a bag of logs. Further bags of logs can be bought at cost price (currently £3). During the winter months (November to March) there will be a weekly supplement of £30 to cover additional heating costs.

They also include double or twin-bedded accommodation, use of kitchen and shower-room or bathroom, and use of one or other of the two main reception rooms: the living room (with log fire) or the studio room (with log-burning stove) - for work, reading or relaxing. There is a TV/DVD combi in both the living room and studio room. 

The rates are based on self-catering. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there is a fridge-freezer, so you won't have to shop every day. If you arrive late, we can arrange to have some food there for you. There is a washing machine and tumble drier: linen is provided but not towels so please bring your own.

There is a telephone at the cottage, but there is no mobile phone signal. Broadband is also currently unobtainable.
